Well, I have not been here is quite a while.  Life gets super busy with three kids.  However, I did find time to make this little card today.  I used Tim Holtz Ink, reinkers, tattered angles dragonfly stamp and some brads.
Thanks so much for looking.

Whoo is Special?

These cards are for my kids teachers.  School ends this Friday.  Artful Times challenge helped me in creating these cards.

Supplies: Kraft paper, sewing pattern tissue paper, stamps, Cricut machine, grunge paper, archival ink from ranger, distress inks (all the browns), ink blending tool, sewing floss, rock candy crackle paint.

1. using the Cricut, I cut out the shawdow box in kraft and the frame in grunge broad.
2. I stamped on the tissue paper and then ripped it to the size of the shadow and glued it down.
3. Inked on the wrinkles using distress ink.
4. inked the frame with distress inks.
5. coated the frame with rock candy crackle paint.
6. let dry.
7. wrap floss around frame.
8. Stamp the base card with background stamp and ink edges using blending tool.
9. stamp on title (make use your words are correct, speaking from experience)
10. Glue frame to shadow.
11. Glue the entire thing to the card.

These were a lot of fun to make.

Challenge #5 Shattered Stains

HI everyone.  My kids are in their last week of school for the year.  So I am enjoying my time, being in my craft room, while they are not here.

Today I am posting my project for Challenge #5   Shattered Stains   from Linda's blog Studio L3.  This weeks sponsor is Simon Says Stamp.  Simon Says Stamp is generously offering a $25 gift card to their store.

This technique, Shattered Stains, comes from  Tim Holtz's Book,  A Compendium of Curiosities, Vol. 2, on page 48.

So here is my project.  I made 5 4x4 cards (three are shone here).  I used white card stock, distress inks (several colors), two different masks, spray ink, grunge paper, rock candy crackle paint, smooches, distress stains, and my  Cricut to cut out the die.

Thanks for looking.

Creative Chemistry with Tim Holtz Day 3

On day three the class covered these techniques:

Alcohol Ink Agates

Archival Resist Technique-

Stamping with Reflections Technique

Creative Chemistry with Tim Holtz Day 2.

I have not been here in a long while. I am still scrapbooking, but not as often as I used to. I am now a photographer and that is where most of my creative time is spent.

Aside from that, I am taking a creative course with Tim Holtz that lasts through next Friday. In the class he teaches different techniques with many of his products. I am going to post my samples here for all of you to see. Thanks for reading.

On Day one Tim discussed the understanding of the products... for example what the difference between oil based, water based and solvent inks are and how they react to your project.

On Day two we practiced three techniques...1. Blended Spritz and Flick, 2. Brushless watercolor,
and 3. wrinkle-free distress.

Below are my samples.

blended spritz and flick
brushless water color

wrinkle-free distress. (I used black in my colors which is why this is so dark.)
